7 Facts about ‘Jawaharlal Nehru’ that will leave you shocked!

At the stroke of the midnight hour when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.”

Those powerful words, memorable to everyone who loves India, were uttered by the father of the modern nation, Sir Jawaharlal Nehru, when the country became independent more than 60 years ago. Also known as Chacha Nehru for little kids. Chacha Nehru is well known personality and admired for his contribution to independence of India.

Very few comprehend about his family background, his sexual relationships, his love affairs with plenty of girls (yeah you read it right!). The untold truth about his family and his greedy politics. If you are keen to know all about him, you must go through this piece of article.

#1 The real religion of Chacha Nehru!

Jawaharlal Nehru was a Muslim. It was his grandfather changed his name from Ghiyasuddin Ghazi to Gangadhar Nehru. In 1857, after capturing Delhi, Britishers killed every Mughal so that there were no future claimant to the throne of Delhi, the reason why his grandfather decided to do so! We being secular, his religion does not concerns us, what matter is hiding the fact.

#2 Jawhar: The Playboy

Just like our very own ‘Mahatma Gandhi’, Jawaharlal Nehru did love to spend time with other girls (you know what we mean) while his wife, Kamala Nehru was hospitalized.

Jawaharlal Nehru had a relationship with a Banarasi girl and other several teens and was fond of drinking and smoking. Shockingly, it is said that Nehru died due to an STD!

#3. The birth of a baby

Jawaharlal Nehru had an illegitimate son with Shraddha Mata, who was a sanyasan from Banaras in 1949, after he became the Prime Minister of India. This love child of Jawaharlal Nehru may still be alive in India and would be in his sixties now! And that his birth date is estimated to be 30th May, 1949.

Though Nehru’s private secretary M.O. Mathai confirmed the existence of the child, no efforts have ever been made to locate him.

#4 Jawaharlal Nehru and his multiple affairs

Our so-called ‘Chacha Nehru’ had a love affair with Sarojini Naidu’s daughter Padmaja Naidu, whom Nehru got appointed as the governor of  Bengal. It is revealed that he used to keep her portrait in his bedroom, which Indira would often remove. It caused tiff between father and daughter.
Nehru had yet another illicit relationship with Edwina, which started in 1947 until the day Edwina died 13 years later. He used to write letters to Edwina until her death.  Few of the letters, even had rose pressed between them. It is said that Edwina was crazy about Nehru and was a keeper of him. Nehru used her for the independence of  India. Yet others to the list are Amrita Sher-Gil, Jacqueline Kennedy and Mridula Sarabhai.

#5 Jawahar Lal, the impostor

Nehru wanted to be the Prime Minister of India, so he blackmailed the father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi, to dissolve “Indian National Congress” and break India into 545 parts, if he did not support him.

What’s worth thinking is, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee were competitors of Jawaharlal Nehru for the post of Prime Minister of India and both of them died under mysterious circumstances.

#6 The 1962 blunder

Chacha Nehru was responsible for the Indian defeat in the sino Indian (Indo Chinese) war. In 1961, he went to the China & gave statement that Tibet is not a part of China, but part of Indian occupied Tibet (Sikkim) is part of India. The loss in the war is considered as one of the biggest blunders by Jawaharlal Nehru in his 15 years of being in office.

During a parliamentary session, Nehru said, “Not a blade of grass grows in Aksai Chin; loss of Indian Territory to China is a loss too little”. A fellow parliamentarian Mahavir Tyagi pointing towards the bald head of Nehru retorted, “Nothing grows there. Should it be cut off or given away to someone else too?”.

#7 Moti Lal, the brothel-keeper

Government of India has not built a memorial of Jawaharlal Nehru at his birthplace, 77 Mirganj in Allahabad, because it is a brothel (a red light area).
The entire locality is a well known red light area since long. It is no more a brothel but it has been that place even before his birth. A portion of the same house was sold by his father Motilal Nehru to a prostitute named Lali Jaan and it came to be known as “Imambada”.

You may be shocked, amazed or may be judgmental, thinking what you read just now was true? Well, every person has his/her dark secrets, so had our Chacha Nehru.
