Deepika Padukone’s upcoming movie Chhapaak’s visual portrayal gets praises from acid attack survivors.
With the release of the first look picture for Deepika Padukone’s upcoming movie, Chhapaak on Monday. The actress has continued to receive praise for her accurate visual portrayal of the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Yet biggest praise might have come from another acid attack survivor, the actress Kangana Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli Chandel.
Eyeing the new look, she tweeted, “No matter how unfair and unjust the world is we must not reflect what we hate, this is commendable on @deepikapadukone and @meghnagulzar part, being an acid attack survivor I pledge to be their biggest cheerleader #Chhapaak”, following the posting of the new look by Deepika of her upcoming movie on social media, several actors proceeded to react to the image.
Among the many was actor Rajkumar Rao, who wrote, “This is brilliant. Can’t wait to see you as #Malti. It’s path-breaking. More power to you Deepika” on Twitter, replying to her new look.
Alia Bhatt, who had previously worked with the Chhapaak director Meghna Gulzar on Raazi replied to Deepika’s tweet with applause emojis.
Besides the drove of positive reactions on Twitter for her new look. Deepika also received a multitudinous response on her Instagram posts comment section with Priyanka Chopra calling the look, “amazing” and Abhishek Bachchan saying it was, “brilliant”.
Director Meghna Gulzar has already disclosed to the fans that they’ll see an entire new Deepika, even going as far as quoting that, “You won’t be seeing Deepika, you know. You will be seeing a disfigured Deepika,” at a Chennai event.
