INTUITIVE EATING: THE NEW HEALTH MOTTO

I’ve put on a lot, let’s begin to diet ” or “I am too skinny, let us get a diet plan been made”; either of the two phrases is used by most of us at least once in life. A whole range of pros and cons are present in your to eat list. But just think about it, are they actually justifiable? Ever observed the trend of health disorders between the intuitive eaters and the ones following a specified dietary pattern? Studies reveal that intuitive eating not only enhances the relationship of food and oneself but also reduces the chances of dietary disorders.

LET’S BEGIN THE JOURNEY OF EATING INTUITIVELY

Intuitive eating is not about knowing what is good to eat but it involves eating by your intuitions. Knowing about what you actually want to eat and also deciding the quantity of the same. Removing all the age-old sayings of having meals three times a day and to finish up all that is in your plate.

Being a non-diet approach it focuses on a better behavior approach as are your food interest, enabling a better understanding of one’s own body and enjoying each bite of the meal instead of just to eat for the sake of finishing. Intuitive eating involves forgetting about the calorie intake and the “so-called-good-and-bad” foods as categorized by us. Instilling re-learning of our knowledge on diet-culture, liberating from the food restrictions and obligations on us. Hunger- fullness and intuitive eating are two different perspectives. An intuitive eater eats to satisfy his carving, his internal hunger, and not the guidelines as set by the nutritional department.

DIETING-a right plan?

Making a list of dietary plans so as to lose weight? But wait and think once, it’s effects on your body? Was that torture worth it? The whole concept of dieting itself is an issue, being the reason for people being obese rather than making them reduce their weight. Instead eating intuitively comes as a solution for weight loss. To eat only the food that you desire for limits your food intake and thus permits dieting as well, in turn proving to be a weapon for losing weight.

EVER FELT PHYSICALLY FULL BUT NOT SATISFIED?

The very well- known hourly hunger is the gift of our “so-called” predecided eating habits. Eating as per a specific plan makes us physically full, but leaving unsatisfied within, causing an urge to eat again , which adds on to the calorie intake. When you eat intuitively, you are actually eating what your body demands thus feeling a sense of pleasure with a lesser quantity consumed.

EMOTIONAL EATING- A CAUSE RATHER THAN A CURE

Food is considered as a weapon to combat with the emotional trauma. Eating at such a high rate is unhealthy and harms bodily mechanisms. It is intuitive eating that plays a role here. Just wait before you start eating during an emotional trauma, know your body and core and that would lead to the solution.

EXERCISE – A TASK LEFT FOR WISE

In the fast growing gym freak world, the meaning of workout too has changed. The only implementation left is the calorie burning effect, leaving behind the freshness it brings to the body. Just remember the last time you felt energized while workout? Well the answer to this, would in turn tell you about the actual problems your body might be facing. Exercise as a method to regulate food intake won’t stick forever. Exercise wisely and follow your intuition and inner body depending on the type of food you eat.

There is a long list of benefits intuitive eating brings along, including a lighter mood leading to a higher self-esteem. Keeping our own made food police away, leads to a sense of optimism. Eating intuitively not only lowers triglyceride levels but also lowers the body index. The main concept of eating intuitively is honoring your body, mind and health and understanding it to the very core and not just eat to live. The main idea of being healthy and not just eating the “so-called-perfect” is the unravel that intuitive eating brings along .
