Yes, you read it right cancer, the lack of awareness and attention to people suffering from mental health is just taking away their life. After listening to the news of Sushant Singh Rajput has committed suicide at age 34 everyone is shocked and sad. Mental health is a major concern worldwide and if we evaluate the development in the field of mental health it is relatively low. Dr. Brock Chisholm, the first Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1954 had presciently declared that without mental health there can be no true physical health. About 14% of the global burden of disease is subjected to neuropsychiatric disorder. The burden of mental disorder is high due to inadequate awareness of the interplay between mental disorders and other health disorders. Around 450 million people are currently suffering from such disorders placing mental disorders as the main reason for illness. What is Mental Strength?? Mental disorder isn't easy, talk about is freely. Coining the term Mental Health, again and again, let's talk about it. What is mental health or mental strength? To me, mental strength is controlling emotions, thoughts, and try to chase a positive attitude regardless of whatever the condition is. Developing mental strength is to believe your beliefs and live according to what makes you feel correct and more loving. Mental illness is not a personal failure. In fact, if there is a failure, it is to be found in the way we have responded to people with mental and brain disorders said Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland, Director-General of WHO, on releasing the World Health Report. People suffering from depression do not find it easy to talk with people. It's really hard for them to open up what's going inside them. Unfortunately, they end up being alone, overthinking, suffering anxiety and end up their life. If you ever feel an unusual change in someone just be in contact with them. Help them cope with it indirectly if they are not opening up. Tell them you care for them, love them, and their life matters, they matter. How to deal with it? 1. Seek people,talk about it freely Talk to lighten your heart Every smiling face hides a story that is beyond your imagination so stay kind and lovable to everyone you meet and spread love and positivity. Although it's easier to feel mentally strong when life seems simple the real turnover comes from the tragedy. Anybody can suffer from mental illness you, me, anyone. Let's talk about it freely. A great saying, Everything that comes out of the human body stinks either it is blood, sweat, or anything except your words. Don't let them stink. Just one word can be a turning point for someone else. Let that turning point to be good rather than pushing them to more adverse conditions. 2. Be kind and generous to people you meet A smile can do wonders Dealing with mental illness isn't that easy and it becomes hard when people just say everything will be fine or you will just get over it. Sometimes people need you not your opinions. They want somebody to listen to them, talk to them, be there with them. It's the time when you really need to play your role in someone's life. This may not mean something to you but it is going to make a lot of difference in their life or maybe you are just giving them a reason to live a life. 3. Spend time with your family Family time is the most precious time We rarely think of sharing our problems with our family but the truth is they are only the one going to stay with you till the end. Share your problems with your family, they truly care for you and love you the most. Spend time with them. Go on a walk with them, have a lively conversation. They will make you love yourself a little more and most importantly help you deal with your illness. 4. Practice meditation Healing and relaxing process. Meditation is more than what you think. Meditation is a tested way to calm your mind. Spend at least 5 minutes meditating daily, it helps you focus and calm your mind. Meditation isn't about spirituality or becoming a new person or even a better person. It's about gaining a healthy sense of observation, calming yourself and more of controlling yourself. Neither it will change your thought nor your feelings but surely let you observe them without judgment. You will feel more of peace, less of chaos. It's a beautiful feeling to accept and love what you are. Just give a try. Love yourself and value your life 5. Divert your mind Do what you love either it is cooking, painting, writing, watching your favorite series, or reading books. Read quotes because they fill you with positivity, admire yourself, and take care of yourself. And importantly love yourself, believe your instincts and heal. Value your life. A message for everyone: "Even if life is being hard on you,Don't lose the battle,Feeling out to cry loud,Don't hide the tears,Talks messing inside?What is confining them inner,You got life, don't make it vulnerable,Passing by people don't make them tear,What he is going through you never know dear,If you can't lessen the pain,Don't let adversity crush them, peer." Everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way. You are the one who should love yourself and believe yourself first. Stop comparing with others. Some get what they want soon but that does not mean you are not doing great so stop stressing, this is not taking you anywhere. Also, people, stop roasting others for their looks, failure, or anything they are doing. You never know what they are suffering from. This may be fun for you but can become serious overthinking, depression, and create problems in one's life. Support them. Be kind to all, grateful for everything you have. Talk about things freely. If you can't help them then don't make someone's life even much difficult. Spread love and kindness. People need you. Show some humanity.
