In yet another shocking turn of events, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded while an Indian Army convoy was on its way, at Arihal village, south Kashmir\u2019s Pulwama district on Monday, 17th of June. According to reports, a car bomb was triggered in the Pulwama district, injuring a few soldiers who were part of an army patrol. The Army officials called it a failed attempt by militants. According to the officials, there was no loss of life and no significant injury to anyone as well. Local residents reported that they heard a loud explosion, which triggered chaos and panic in the area. Army vehicle attacked in Pulwama. \u201cThe attack was made on a mobile vehicle patrol of 44 RR with a vehicle-based IED while the Army patrol was moving in the general area Arihal in district Pulwama today evening.\u201d, said Colonel Rajesh Kalia, the Defense Spokesperson of the Indian Army. He also said that the damage was minimized due to the alertness of the patrol party. However, nine soldiers who were part of the patrol team were injured in the blast and were shifted to the hospital immediately. Investigations are still underway, and more details are awaited by the Army as well as the media. Residents in the area said that \u201cintense firing\u201d took place after the blast, adding to the chaos. The encounter is still on. The attack comes days after Pakistan had informed the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, about a possible attack in Pulwama. The information was shared with the US as well. Earlier this year, in February, a Jaish-e-Mohammad suicide bomber had rammed a car loaded with explosives, into a CRPF convoy in Pulwama killing 40 jawans. Thus, yesterday's attack was a second and equally coward attempt on the lives of our brave Army heroes.
