It is the highest motor-able road of the world, Khardung la, and two of the most dangerous road of the world, Rohtang La and Zoji La. It also has the famous battlefield on the hill, Kargil, Indo-Pak War-1999, and Rezang La (yet a mountain pass), Indo-China War-1962. The Tso Pangong also adds to the pride. It is the highest salt water lake in the world, sharing 60% of it with China. The colour of the lakes changes with time. It gives a diamond reflection of the sunlight at certain time of the day with change in the angle of incidence of the sunlight. Ladakh also has the highest cafeteria of the world, Rinchen cafeteria-at a height of 18380 ft, on the pass of Khardung La.
