Another name has been added to the tragedies of 2020. Chadwick Boseman. The popular actor who brought life to “Black Panther” succumbed to colon cancer at the age of 43. He was silently fighting and enduring Cancer all this time when we saw him act in back to back movies. His publicist Nicki Fioravante confirmed the news of his death after the social media post indicating the same.
After his death a statement was posted on his Twitter account: “It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman. It was the honor of his life to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther“.
Back in 2013, Boseman came to light when he played Jackie Robinson in the film “42”. He is known for playing revolutionary characters of Hollywood and American History. Boseman made his debut at Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016 as T’Challa aka Black Panther in “Captain America: Civil War.” He has been a part of Avengers ever since. Turns out His battle with colon cancer also began in 2016. Boseman also got a stand-alone movie like Black Panther which was released in 2018. Everyone has cheered to “Wakanda Forever” after that. Supposedly this was to be followed by another movie in the Black Panther Saga in 2022, but unfortunately, Chadwick will not be our Black Panther.
Although Chadwick had a short life he made his mark in Hollywood. Apart from Marvel Universe, he also starred in other films, including, “Get On Up”, “21 Bridges”, Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods” and “Marshall”.
It is tragic and strange that we won’t see him saluting his fans with “wakanda forever“, but he will for sure live in our hearts, because: Wakanda Forever !!
