The Midnight Dream

Lingering around
what looked like a meadow,
a forlorn wanderer.
She leaned on the weeping willow,
lost and alone in the wilderness.
Her scream, a slow ringing echo;
hopeless in the darkness.

When all of a sudden,
she heard a nocturne.
And from the woods,
came out an equestrian.

With tear-blind eyes,
she lifted her gaze.
His crystal clear eyes
like purest skies
instantly melting her heart.

Her eyes reflected her question,
he implied the suggestion,
held out his hand.
And just as
she lifted her hand
all set to go to the fairyland,
happened what she had feared,
and the mirage disappeared.
Everything went black
and she opened her eyes.
